As September approaches, we're hitting the midpoint in our journey toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) by 2030. These 17 goals were adopted by world leaders in a historic UN Summit back in September 2015. Who could have foreseen the massive challenges of a global Covid-19 pandemic or a full-scale war in Ukraine?
Here at ENGin, we're committed to ensuring that every Ukrainian speaks confident English. With our very own director in Ukraine, Mykola Popadyuk, as a UN delegate, we're constantly reminded of these 17 goals and our alignment with the international community in working towards them.
📘🎓 SDG 4 - Quality Education: ENGin is not just about language proficiency - we're champions of comprehensive education. For example, through our strategic partnerships with Coursera and Udemy, we facilitate free access to diverse courses for our students, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.
🚺🚹 SDG 5 - Gender Equality: Born out of strong female leadership, ENGin is a testament to the power and potential of gender equality. We pride ourselves on providing equal opportunities to all, regardless of gender, and we are committed to fostering more female leaders worldwide. A fun fact is that most of ENGin’s volunteers and students are female!
💼📈 SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth: ENGin is vital in preparing Ukrainian youth for the global workforce. Through improving English language skills and providing broader educational opportunities, we're equipping them with the tools to secure decent work and contribute positively to economic growth, both locally and globally, during the war and in the post-war period.
🤝🌐 SDG 17 - Partnerships for the Goals: ENGin's global network of native English speakers and eager learners showcases the power of international cooperation. Through these partnerships, we improve language proficiency and foster understanding and empathy across cultures, contributing to a peaceful and prosperous global community.
